"There are nine million people on the Bone Marrow Registry, but only seven percent are African American. Race and ethnicity play a crucial role in making a match. Sign up to save a life!"

MAKE A MATCH

BONE MARROW REGISTRY AND BLOOD DRIVE

How to Register to Donate Blood: Click the link above to schedule an appointment time to donate blood. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments are not required, but suggested to ensure minimal wait time.

How to Register for the Bone Marrow Registry: Appointments are not required to be added to the National Bone Marrow Registry. A simple cheek swab can add your name to the registry and give hope to families. Registering only takes a few minutes. For more information on marrow donation, visit www.kidsbeatingcancer.com.

Patients with certain cancers and blood disorders depend on bone marrow transplants and blood transfusions to find a cure. Without donors, neither is possible. The Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children is the only hospital in Central Florida with bone marrow transplantation, which can cure over 70 cancer and non-cancer diseases, including sickle cell disease. It only takes a simple cheek swab to become a possible life-saving match for a person in need of a bone marrow transplant.

The public is invited to join the Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children, Florida’s Blood Centers and Kids Beating Cancer to add their name to the bone marrow registry, donate blood, or both. Help us by becoming a donor and giving the gift of life to someone in need.
